Mary Miller, a representative for Illinois' 15th Congressional District, said, "Governor JB Pritzker has prioritized radical activists over parents and the safety of our kids." This comment was made in response to reports involving teen girls being required to change in locker rooms with a male student. Miller shared her remarks in a Facebook post on March 18.
"Governor JB Pritzker has prioritized radical activists over parents and the safety of our kids," said Miller, U.S, Representative, according to Facebook. "Girls are being forced to share locker rooms with biological boys, and explicit materials are being pushed in schools. Illinois parents need to wake up and fight back!"
According to Miller, she recently discussed with Ted Starnes her concerns that Governor Pritzker has been prioritizing the LGBTQIA2S+ community, particularly favoring queer and trans students and activists. She urged parents to become more involved in educational matters to prevent what she described as the hypersexualization of children through indecent materials in schools and public libraries. Miller encouraged parents to run for school boards and resist these changes, advocating for a mass withdrawal from public schools and expressing support for school choice.

Miller further criticized the practice of requiring teen girls to undress or share locker rooms with boys, attributing it to Pritzker’s focus on supporting queer and trans students. This critique relates to an incident at Alan Shepherd Middle School in the Deerfield 109 District in February. A 13-year-old girl was reportedly compelled by school administrators to change clothes in front of a biological male during a physical education class. According to the Lake County Gazette, parent Nicole Georgas has initiated legal action against the school district. At a board meeting on March 11, Georgas recounted how her daughter left the locker room when faced with this situation. The administrators later reprimanded the girls involved.
Georgas spoke with Fox News regarding her lawsuit and her defense of her daughter at the school board meeting against trans activists who supported allowing the biological male student access to the female locker room. Administrators proposed transferring her daughter to another physical education class as a solution; however, Georgas declined this option, maintaining that her daughter would not change classes since she had done nothing wrong. Georgas also disclosed that she filed complaints with both the Department of Justice and the Department of Education's civil rights division but claimed that despite these actions, her concerns were disregarded by the school.
