Mary Miller, the representative for Illinois' 15th District, has expressed her intention to defund Planned Parenthood due to its involvement in providing abortion services. She shared this statement on Facebook.
"Every heartbeat matters," said Mary E. Miller, U.S. Representative, according to Facebook. "Every life has value. Planned Parenthood has ended millions. I'm making it my mission to DEFUND them!"
According to Miller's post, she linked to Breitbart News Daily, where she appeared and reiterated her stance on defunding Planned Parenthood. She argued that the organization already receives millions of dollars and said that while she does not anticipate a nationwide abortion ban, taxpayers should not be funding it. "Planned Parenthood also does not offer women’s health services like they claim. And I mean, I’m not saying they don’t do a mammogram or this or that, here and there, but they’re primarily abortion providers, and now they’re getting into distributing that dangerous abortion pill. Also they’re, you know, getting into the trans thing there. And so, you know, I’m gonna, I’m leading a rally to the Congress to defund Planned Parenthood," she said.

Following her rally with pro-life groups on Capitol Hill, Miller announced plans to strip Planned Parenthood of federal funding through budget reconciliation. This announcement came shortly after the Trump administration withheld tens of millions in Title X funds from the organization. Miller said: "There is no greater waste, fraud, and abuse of American taxpayer dollars than the over half a billion spent every year to fund the murder of innocent lives. President Trump took bold action to cut off Planned Parenthood’s funding, but now Congress must fulfill its constitutional duty and permanently defund this corrupt organization. I’m committed to ensuring not a single dime of taxpayer money funds the killing of unborn children through reconciliation."
Mary Miller currently serves in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 15th district. She succeeded John Shimkus in 2021 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Illinois University. Born in Oak Park, Illinois in 1959, Miller is 63 years old.
