State Senator Jil Tracy, representing Quincy, along with State Senators Erica Harriss from Glen Carbon and Chapin Rose from Mahomet, addressed a pressing issue for their constituents: the need for immediate action on property tax relief. This discussion took place on February 27 in Springfield.

The senators expressed concern that Governor JB Pritzker's recent budget proposal did not address this critical issue. During his February 19 Budget Address, Governor Pritzker presented a $55.4 billion spending plan, marking it as the largest in the state's history. However, the plan omitted any mention of property taxes.

At a press conference held at the Capitol on February 27, Senator Tracy and her colleagues highlighted legislative solutions they are considering to alleviate the burden of rising property taxes.
