As the new school year approaches, State Senator Jil Tracy, Representative Kyle Moore, and Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer have initiated a Back-to-School Supplies Drive to support students in their districts. The drive will run until August 8, aiming to provide necessary supplies for local students.
“I’m proud to join my colleagues for our inaugural school supply drive,” said Senator Tracy. “Every student deserves to walk into the classroom with the tools they need to learn and succeed. This effort helps lift a burden from families and shows our students that their community is behind them.”
The initiative encourages donations of various new school supplies such as backpacks, lunch boxes, pencils, notebooks, and other essentials.
“This drive is about more than just supplies,” said Representative Moore. “It’s about reminding our students and families that they are valued, supported, and part of a community that steps up for one another. Whether you donate a single notebook or a trunk full of supplies, you’re making a real difference for a child in our district.”
Donations can be made at two locations: Quincy Office at 3601 East Lake Centre Drive, Suite 200 in Quincy, IL; and Jacksonville Office at 325 W. State Street, Suite 102 in Jacksonville, IL.
“Every child should be able to start school ready to learn,” added Representative Davidsmeyer. “With the cost of living so high, many families are stretched thin just trying to cover the basics. Even a small donation can mean a brighter start for a student — and a stronger future for our communities.”
The collected donations will be distributed to local schools before classes commence. For further details, contact Representative Moore’s office at 217-223-0833.
