Payson Community Unit School District 1 Board of Education met Dec. 18.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
CALL TO ORDERLisa Schwartz called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
ROLL CALLRoll was taken with the following members present: Denise Albsmeyer, Keith Barry, Russ Board, Danelle Donley, Cory Hagerbaumer, Trista Neisen and Lisa Schwartz.
Also present were Donna Veile, Julie Molidor, Greg Buescher and Nancy Cromie.
VISITORSAlexis Allen, Jason Shimp, Isaac Miller, Gary Hagerbaumer, Casey Bergman, Trevor Hagerbaumer, Diane Germann, Blake Wolf
PUBLICAlexis Allen addressed the board regarding the legitimacy of Santa Claus.MISC REPORTSJason Shimp and Isaac Miller, from Architechnics, presented the board with the proposed plan for the HS MPR kitchen.
Casey Bergman, senior class sponsor, presented the proposed senior trip to the board.
AD REPORTLauren Bentzinger submitted a report on the status of current sports.

SUPERINTENDENT REPORTDonna Veile shared information from Two Rivers Division and an administrative roundtable. She also gave an update on property/casualty and workman’s comp insurance.
HS FOYER GRAPHICSNeisen made a motion to approve to have graphics installed in the high school foyer . Barry seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz NAY: None
IASB POLICIESBarry made a motion to approve the first reading of IASB policies as listed on the agenda. Neisen seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz NAY: None
2025-26 CURRICULUM CHANGESDonley made a motion to approve the curriculum changes that will begin with the 2025-26 school year. Neisen seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz NAY: None
ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL REPORTJulie Molidor shared that the elementary Christmas concert was a great success. Over 900 items from students were collected by PTO and donated to the Payson Food Pantry. Students and staff had various dress up days during the month of December. TRIBES got to participate in Minute To Win It games. Christmas meals will be delivered to several families. A 5th grade curriculum update was presented.
SECONDARY PRINCIPAL REPORTGreg Buescher shared that there was a large crowd at the Winter band concert. Student Council sponsored a food collection and students brought in over 600 items. Winter Ball and an all school picnic was enjoyed by many staff and students. Spanish Club held a Christmas party. A slideshow of classroom activities was shared.
MOVE TO CLOSED SESSIONDonley made a motion to move into closed session for the purpose of discussing the employment of personnel, student matters, and other items appropriate for closed session.
