Representative Mary Miller shared information about a Supreme Court decision allowing Virginia to purge voter rolls in an October 30 Facebook post. She said, "Joe Biden and Kamala Harris do not believe that only American citizens should be allowed to vote in American elections."
"Victory in the Supreme Court after the Biden-Harris DOJ tried to FORCE Virginia to allow noncitizens to vote," said Miller, U.S. Representative, according to Facebook. "Joe Biden and Kamala Harris do not believe that only American citizens should be allowed to vote in American elections."
According to her Facebook post, Miller shared a link to a post from Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin regarding the U.S. Supreme Court's decision on the state's purging of voter rolls before an election. Youngkin expressed satisfaction with the court's order, stating, "We are pleased by the Supreme Court’s order today. This is a victory for commonsense and election fairness. I am grateful for the work of Attorney General Jason Miyares on this critical fight to protect the fundamental rights of U.S. citizens. Clean voter rolls are one important part of a comprehensive approach we are taking to ensure the fairness of our elections."

On October 30, the Associated Press reported that the conservative justices of the U.S. Supreme Court had allowed Virginia’s purge of voter rolls to continue, following a lawsuit by immigrants' rights groups and the League of Women Voters alleging that legitimate voters were being removed from the rolls. The report indicated that the Supreme Court overturned a decision by a federal judge who found that more than 1,600 voter registrations had been illegally purged in recent months.
The state had also faced legal challenges from the U.S. Justice Department and other groups claiming violations of federal election law due to these removals. Despite this, Virginia offers same-day voter registration.
Youngkin further elaborated in his Facebook post about election security measures in place: "Virginians also know that we have paper ballots, counting machines not connected to the internet, a strong chain of custody process, signature verification, monitored and secured drop boxes, and a 'triple check' vote counting process to tabulate results. Virginians can cast their ballots on Election Day knowing that Virginia’s elections are fair, secure, and free from politically-motivated interference."
Mary Miller is currently serving in Congress representing Illinois’ 15th district after replacing John Shimkus in 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Illinois University.
