Payson Community Unit School District 1 Board of Education met July 17.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

CALL TO ORDER

Denise Albsmeyer called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

ROLL CALL

Roll was taken with the following members present: Denise Albsmeyer, Keith Barry, Russ Board, Danelle Donley, Cory Hagerbaumer and Trista Neisen were present. Lisa Schwartz was absent.

Also present was Donna Veile and Nancy Cromie.

CONSENT AGENDA

Albsmeyer made a motion to approve the consent agenda. Donley seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer and Neisen NAY: None

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

Donna Veile shared an update on the summer work. 2024-25 student registration dates were announced.

CLOSED SESSION MINUTES

Barry made a motion to approve to keep the last six months of closed session minutes closed. Neisen seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barry, Donley, Hagerbaumer and Neisen NAY: Board

2024-25 SCHOOL FEES

Neisen made a motion to approve the 2024-25 school fees the same as the 2023-24 school fees. Barry seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer and Neisen NAY: None

MOVE TO CLOSED SESSION

Donley made a motion to move into closed session for the purpose of discussing the employment of personnel, student matters, collective bargaining agreements, superintendent contract and other items appropriate for closed session. Albsmeyer seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer and Neisen NAY: None

Moved into closed session at 7:18 p.m.

RETURN TO OPEN SESSION

Neisen made a motion to return to open session. Albsmeyer seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer and Neisen NAY: None

Returned to open session at 7:57 p.m.

PERSONNEL ADDENDUM

Donley made a motion to approve the personnel addendum. Albsmeyer seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barry, Board, Donley, Hagerbaumer and Neisen NAY: None

ADDITIONAL ITEMS

There was discussion on the bus lease, HVAC issues and homeschool students playing sports.
