City of Quincy Central Services Committee met July 15.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Meeting was called to order by Alderperson Sassen at 6:15pm.

Members present: Alderperson Tony Sassen, Alderperson Jack Holtschlag, Alderperson Kelly Mays, and Kevin McClean

(representing Central Services)

Guests present: Mayor Mike Troup, Jeff Mays, Steve Bange, Jeffrey Conte, Alderperson Glen Ebbing, Alderperson Ken

Hultz, and Bruce Alford.

• The minutes from the last meeting were discussed

• It was moved by Alderperson Mays and seconded by Alderperson Holtschlag that the minutes from the last meeting be approved.

• The motion carried

Public Comment

• Paul Rees spoke regarding the residence requirements for contractors.

New Business

Central Services

• Kevin McClean requested permission to purchase a Case bulldozer from Luby equipment.

• The committee approved the purchase pending the request of additional information about the machine and other bids that were submitted and then to send to council with committee approval.

• The motion carried.

Engineering

• Steve Bange presented bids for the resurfacing of Ridgewood Dr., Woodbridge Dr., and 18th Street Maine-State.

• It was moved by Alderperson Holtschlag and seconded by Alderperson Mays to approve the sole bid of $1,383,021.95 from Diamond Construction and send to council with committee approval.

• The motion carried.

• Steve Bange presented a request to amend the city ordinance regarding residency requirements for contractors.

• It was moved by Alderperson Holtschlag and seconded by Alderperson Mays to table this indefinitely.

• The motion carried.

• Steve Bange presented bids for the Harrison Street bridge replacement.

• It was moved by Alderperson Mays and seconded by Alderperson Holtschlag to reject all the bids and rebid the project later.

• The motion carried.

Planning and Development

• No business.

• With no other business to be presented, it was moved by Alderperson Mays and seconded by Alderperson Holtschlag that the meeting be adjourned at 6:36pm.

• The motion carried.
