Liberty Community Unit School District #2 Board of Education met Feb. 21.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Regular meeting was called to order at 6:32 p.m. Members present: Baucom, Derhake, Meyer, Mixer, Mowen and Obert. Absent: Sims 6 present 1 absent. Also present: Kelle Bunch, Tamra Longlett, Holly Schell, Schanan Kivett, Merle Simon, Emily Wellman, Chris Taylor, Patrica Huddleston, Cliff Huddleston and Alisia Pittman.

Emily Wellman left the meeting at 6:55 p.m.

Motion by Mixer, seconded by Mowen that the board of education approves the Routine Consent Agenda. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Baucom, Derhake, Meyer, Mixer, Mowen, and Obert. 6 ayes 0 nays. M.C.

Motion by Mixer, seconded by Baucom that the board of education approves letters A and C on the Consent Agenda. Letter B was removed. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Baucom, Derhake, Meyer, Mixer, Mowen, and Obert. 6 ayes 0 nays. M.C.

Merle Simon left the meeting at 7:10 p.m.

Holly Schell left the meeting at 8:45 p.m.

Tamra Longlett, Schanan Kivett, Chris Taylor, Patrica Huddleston, Cliff Huddleston and Alisia Pittman left the meeting at 9:21 p.m.

Motion by Mowen, seconded by Meyer that the board goes into closed session. Time: 9:21 p.m. Meeting in Closed Session on the following subjects: a) the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees, specific individuals who serve as independent contractors, or specific volunteers of the School District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee, a specific individual who serves, as an independent contractor, or a volunteer of the District.; b) collective negotiating matters between the School District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees; c) the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the District; d) the setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the District; e) the sale or purchase of securities, investments, or investment contracts; f) emergency security procedures; g) student disciplinary cases; h) the placement of individual students in special education programs and other matters relating to individual students; i) pending, probable, or imminent litigation; j) evaluation of attorney; k) approval of certain closed session minutes for distribution to the public; or other matters appropriate for a closed meeting pursuant to the Open Meetings Act. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Baucom, Derhake, Meyer, Mixer, Mowen, and Obert. 6 ayes 0 nays. M.C.

Motion by Mowen, seconded by Baucom that the board of education go out of closed session. 10:25 p.m. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Baucom, Derhake, Meyer, Mixer, Mowen, and Obert. 6 ayes 0 nays. M.C.

Motion by Obert, seconded by Mowen that the board of education approve the personnel report. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Baucom, Derhake, Meyer, Mixer, Mowen, and Obert. 6 ayes 0 nays. M.C.

Motion by Obert seconded by Baucom that the board of education adjourns. Time: 10:39 p.m. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Baucom, Derhake, Meyer, Mixer, Mowen, and Obert. 6 ayes 0 nays. M.C.
