Payson Community Unit School District #1 Board of Education met June 15.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

CALL TO ORDER

Donna Veile called the meeting to order at 7:07 p.m.

ROLL CALL

Nancy Cromie, district secretary, called roll with the following members present:  Denise Albsmeyer, Danelle Donley, Cory Hagerbaumer, Trista Neisen and Lisa Schwartz (by phone).  Keith Barry and Russ Board were absent.

Also present were Donna Veile, Greg Buescher, and Nancy Cromie.

VISITORS

None

CIPA/ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY

There was discussion on CIPA (Children’s Internet Protection Act) but there was no public comment.  The District Acceptable Use Policy Implementation Plan will remain the same.

CONSENT AGENDA

Albsmeyer made a motion to approve the consent agenda.  Neisen seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

Donna Veile reminded the board members that they are mandated child abuse reporters.  The Chicago board conference will be November 17-19 for those that are interested in attending.  After discussion on the HS sound system it was decided to move forward with the Athletic Club’s presentation.

ELEMENTARY HOT LUNCH PRODUCT BID 2023-24

Neisen made a motion to approve the elementary hot lunch product bid for 2023-24 from Kohl’s.  Albsmeyer seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

MILK BID 2023-24

Donley made a motion to approve the firm milk bid for 2023-24 from Prairie Farms.  Neisen seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

MEETING DATES 2023-24

Neisen made a motion to approve the board meeting dates for 2023-24.  Donley seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

CONSOLIDATED DISTRICT PLAN 2023-24

Albsmeyer made a motion to approve the consolidated district plan for 2023-24.  Donley seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

IASB POLICIES

Albsmeyer made a motion to approve the first reading of IASB policies as listed on the agenda.  Neisen seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

FOOTBALL COOP AGREEMENT 2023-2025

Neisen made a motion to approve the football coop agreement with Unity for 2023-24  and 2024-25. Donley seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

SECURITY WINDOW FILM

Donley made a motion to approve putting a security window film on entrance areas.  Neisen seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

2023-24 JH/HS STUDENT HANDBOOK CHANGES

Schwartz made a motion to approve the second reading of 2023-24 JH/HS student handbook changes.  Albsmeyer seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

BASEBALL STORAGE SHED MATERIALS

Donley made a motion to approve the baseball storage shed material selection.  Neisen seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

MOVE TO CLOSED SESSION

Neisen made a motion to move into closed session for the purpose of discussing the employment of personnel, student matters, collective bargaining agreement and other items appropriate for closed session.  Albsmeyer seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

Entered into closed session at 8:18 p.m.

RETURN TO OPEN SESSION

Neisen made a motion to return to open session.  Donley seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

Returned to open session at 9:12 p.m.

PERSONNEL ADDENDUM

Neisen made a motion to approve the personnel addendum.  Albsmeyer seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

NON-CERTIFIED COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT

Donley made a motion to approve the non-certified collective bargaining agreement.  Hagerbaumer seconded the motion.  AYE:  Albsmeyer, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None

ADJOURNMENT

Neisen made a motion to adjourn.  Hagerbaumer seconded the motion.   AYE:  Albsmeyer, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz   NAY:  None
