the next regular meeting.

Call to Order and Roll Call

The Southeastern Community Unit District #337 Board of Education met in regular session in the Board of Education Office (Room #123) in Augusta, Illinois. Greg Tippey, Board Vice President, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

Roll Call verified that there was a quorum of the Board of Education with the following members present and absent as listed below:

Approval of Minutes

On a motion by Member Kearby and a second by Member Hitz, the Board of Education approved the minutes from the July 25, 2022 board meeting.

Financial

Superintendent Fox reviewed the FY22 Monthly Financial Snapshot and the FY23 budget process.

On a motion by Member Kearby and a second by Member Winters, the Board of Education approved the Fiscal Year 2023 Tentative Budget –as presented.

On a motion by Member Hitz and a second by Member Winters, the Board of Education approved the bills, financial statements, and activity funds as presented.

Informational Items

Superintendent Fox gave a school safety update.

Superintendent Fox presented the current enrollment numbers plus the last four years.

Administrative reports were given with Mrs. Harrison reporting on how well the start of school has been going and gave update on annual social-emotional survey. Superintendent Fox offered continued thoughts for employee Sara Guymon. Mr. Kerr gave an update on the class schedule.

On a motion by Member Kearby and a second by Member Winters, the Board of Education moved into closed session at 7:24 p.m. for the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity; collective negotiating matters between the school board and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees; and discussion of minutes of meetings lawfully closed under the Open Meetings Act, whether for purposes of school board approval of the minutes or semi-annual review of the minutes as required by the Act.
