On March 8, Natalie Demos, the current Miss Macomb, visited legislators in Springfield to discuss mental health and removing its stigma. One of those legislators was Sen. Jil Tracy (R-Quincy).
"On March 8, I had the opportunity to talk with Natalie Demos of Rockford, who currently holds the title of Miss Macomb and will be competing in the Miss Illinois pageant in June," Tracy posted on Facebook. "Natalie came to the Capitol in Springfield to talk with state lawmakers and advocate for her social impact initiative 'Let’s Talk About It: Normalizing the Discussion of Mental Health!' What an impressive young woman!," said Tracy.
Demos won her title in February. The Miss Northern Suburbs/Lake County Organization cheered her win in a Facebook post. "We are honored to take on the historic title of Miss Macomb this year. Congratulations Natalie Demos and welcome to the Miss Northern Suburbs family!! #mao #missillinois"
This isn't Demos' first pageant win. Three years ago, she was named "2019 Miss Winnebago County Fair Queen."
Another Miss Macomb, Angelica Niemann, will compete this year in the Miss Wisconsin Volunteer pageant through the MIss Volunteer America Organization.
