Adams County Search Committee met Jan. 18.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
Attendance: Matt Obert, Bret Austin, Dave Bellis, Mark Peter, Kent Snider
Absent: Barbara Fletcher
Matt Obert called the meeting to order. There were no speakers. Since this was the first meeting for this committee there were no minutes to approve.
Discussion regarding purpose and role of the committee took place. It was agreed that this committee’s role is to review applications/resumes and interview selected individuals for the open positions in the county board office and take a recommendation to the full county board regarding the potential hiring/filling of the vacancy. This position has been referred to as the Executive Assistant to the county board in the past but it has been decided to now refer to it as the Director of Human Resources.
Mr. Snider made a motion to go into executive session for the purpose of addressing personnel matter and interviewing of individuals for the position. Motion was seconded by Mr. Bellis. Motion passed and committee went into executive session.
Committee resumed following the executive session. It was agreed that Mr. Obert would contact the committee’s recommended top candidate (G.H.) to see if they would accept the job offer contingent upon approval of the full county board. Mr. Obert was given authority to offer a salary of up to $68,000. Mr. Obert will follow -up and report back his findings
Mr. Peter made a motion to adjourn meeting. Seconded by Mr. Snider.
