Blessing Health System issued the following announcement on Apr. 23.
Josie Amelia Edwards left this world the same day she entered, March 25, 2018.
She lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
And with contributions from family and friends, Josie’s parents, Amy and Dustin Edwards, celebrated her third birthday recently by creating and bringing seven baskets to Blessing Hospital to be given to other families who experience a stillbirth.
“It’s not something anyone is comfortable talking about. But when you are in the middle of it, anything helps to comfort you,” said Josie’s mom, Amy.
“The baskets contain devotionals, notebooks, pens, anything that I thought could be helpful to parents who are going through infant loss,” she concluded.
The baskets were accepted by Jamie Kane, RN, nurse manager, Blessed Beginnings/Obstetrics, and Holly Woodruff, RN, nurse educator for Blessed Beginnings and facilitator of the SHARE support group for parents who have lost children.
“This is a healthy way to grieve,” Holly said.
