John Wood Community College Curriculum Committee met Dec. 14.

The meeting convened at 2:00 p.m. Present virtually via zoom conference were Mr. Don Hess; trustee, Mr. James Gay; trustee, Mr. Mike Elbe; president, Dr. Laurel Klinkenberg; vice president of instruction, and Kristina Johnson; note taker.
The committee reviewed and discussed the new Advanced Nursing Assistant certificate which was developed in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Public Health to expand on the skill level and professional opportunities of the Certified Nursing Assistant. The certificate is recognized anywhere in the state of Illinois. The new NUA 121 course will include the additional skills necessary for the Financial Aid eligible Advanced Nursing Certificate.
The deleted course NUA 120, Practicum for Health Care Assistant, is the last class to be deleted for the, no longer offered, Health Care Certificate.
Two Articulation Agreements with BRCN will be presented to the Board for signatures: Medical Lab Technician and Health Information Management Associate of Science degrees. BRCN and JWCC have collaborated in developing a program of study for both credentials. The prerequisite general education courses will be taken at JWCC before the students apply for the BRCN selective admissions programs.
