McDonough District Hospital will keep its drive-thru screening station open seven days a week, but officials cut two hours off its schedule each day.
The screening station’s new hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, NEWS3 said.
The hospital opened the drive-thru and a coronavirus nurse triage hotline on March 25. The hotline operates from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Patients must pre-register for the screening station which tests for COVID-19, Influenza A and B, and strep. Patients need to get a prescription their primary care provider to pre-register, or they can call the hotline at 309-836-1715.
Anyone who is experiencing a fever, shortness of breath or a cough are urged to call their primary care physician or the hotline, NEWS3 reported. If someone does not have a primary care provider, they can call the hospital’s Family Clinic or Convenience Clinic at 309-837-6937.
The screening station is next to the health services buildings on the south end of the hospital’s parking lot. Patients are limited to two occupants per vehicle and are to stay inside their cars. Once a clinical staff member approaches a patient's car, a patient can roll down the so the screening test can be performed.
