The following minutes are tentative and will not become official minutes of the Board of Education until their scheduled approval at the next regular meeting.

Call to Order and Roll Call

The Southeastern Community Unit District #337 Board of Education met in regular session in the Board of Education Office (Room126) in Augusta, Illinois. John Eilers, Board President, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

Roll Call verified that there was a quorum of the Board of Education with the following members present and absent as listed below:

Approval of Agenda Items

On a motion by Member Tippey and a second by Member O’Neal, the Board of Education approved the agenda items as presented.

Public Hearing Process

On a motion by Member Winters and a second by Member Tippey, the Board of Education opened the public hearing at 6:30 p.m. on the ISBE Waiver of Student Tuition.

Nay: None

Absent: Bruenger

Motion Carried

On a motion by Member Winters and a second by Member O’Neal, the Board of Education closed the public hearing at 6:32 p.m. on the ISBE Waiver of Student Tuition.

On a motion by Member Tippey and a second by Member O’Neal, the Board of Education approved the resolution of the ISBE Waiver of Student Tuition.

Approval of Minutes

On a motion by Member O’Neal and a second by Member Winters, the Board of Education approved the minutes from the October 26, 2020 regular meeting and closed session.

Special Recognition

Superintendent Fox reviewed the Board of Excellence page on the district website featuring student accomplishments consisting of National Agri Science Fair winners.

Financial

Superintendent Fox reviewed the monthly financial snapshot which shows we are 33% into the fiscal year. We have received 64% of estimated revenue and have spent 32% of the estimated budget.

On a motion by Member Tippey and a second by Member O’Neal, the Board of Education approved the bills, financial statements, and activity funds.

On a motion by Member O’Neal and a second by Member Winters, the Board of Education approved to schedule the Truth in Taxation Hearing for Monday, December 14, 2020 at 6:30 p.m.

Superintendent Fox gave COVID-19 update.

Superintendent Fox discussed IHSA Winter Sports.

Superintendent Fox presented the 2021 School Calendar.

Superintendent Fox reminded the board of the upcoming 2021 school board election.

Superintendent Fox reported on the McDonough and Schuyler county school facility sales tax.

Superintendent Fox presented the 2020 School Report Card.

Superintendent Fox gave update on Board Policy with the 1st Reading of: 3:40 Superintendent, 4:10 Fiscal and Business Management, 4:55 Use of Credit and Procurement Cards, 4:80 Accounting and Audits, 4:90 Student Activity and Fiduciary Funds, 4:150 Facility Management and Building Programs, 4:175 Convicted Child Sex Offender; Screening; Notifications, 5:30 Hiring Process and Criteria, 5:190 Teacher Qualifications, 5:270 Employment At-Will, Compensation, and Assignment, 6:15 School Accountability, 6:20 School Year Calendar and Day, 6;40 Curriculum Development, 6:280 Grading and Promotion, 6:300 Graduation Requirements, 6:310 High School Credit for Non-District Experiences; Course Substitutions; Re-Entering Students, 6:315 High School Credit for Students in Grade 7 or 8, 6:320 High School Credit for Proficiency, 6:340 Student Testing and Assessment Program, 7:100 Health, Eye, and Dental Examinations; Immunizations; and Exclusions of Students, 7:140 Search and Seizure, 7:300 Extracurricular Athletics, 7:325 Student Fundraising Activities

Administrative reports were given with Mrs. Lantz reporting that the Thanksgiving meal distribution went well.

Hotspots have been distributed to 116 households. Mr. Rigg reported on a possible co-op agreement for next year. More details will be discussed at the December meeting.

Adjournment

On a motion by Member Tippey and a second by Member Winters, the Board of Education voted to adjourn the meeting at 7:37 p.m.
