Loraine home prices fall in the second half of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2018 in Loraine fell by $52,600 while total sales increased by 150%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2018, there were five homes sold, with a median sale price of $32,000 - a 62.2% decrease over the $84,600 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were two homes sold in Loraine in the second half of 2017.

The median sales tax in Loraine for 2018 was $904. In 2017, the median sales tax was $873. This marks an increase of 3.7%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.8%.
