Mendon Community Unit School District 4 Board of Education met Sept. 25.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Education of Community Unit School District #4 met in regular session on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, in the Unity High School Band Room. The meeting was called to order by President Farmer at 6:00 p.m. Members present were: Amsman, Duesterhaus, Duke, Farmer, Fleer, Janssen and Miller. Principals *** were present. Superintendent Riddle was present. 1 visitor was present,

Agenda Items

MOTION: Janssen "to approve agenda items as presented." 

SECOND: Duke 

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Amsman, Duesterhaus, Duke, Farmer, Fleer, Janssen, and Miller. Motion carried. 

Consent Agenda

MOTION: Fleer “to approve of the Consent Agenda items,

SECOND: Janssen 

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Arnsman, Duesterhaus, Duke, Farmer, Fleer, Janssen, and Miller. Motion carried. 

Approve personnel list

MOTION: Duke “to approve recommended personnel list as presented.”

SECOND: Duesterhaus 

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Arnsman, Duesterhaus, Duke, Farmer, Fleer, Janssen, and Miller. Motion carried. 

Approve Fiscal year 19-20 proposed budget

MOTION: Duesterhaus "to approve Fiscal year 2019-2020 proposed budget as presented.” 

SECOND: Janssen 

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Arnsman, Duesterhaus, Duke, Farmer, Fleer, Janssen, and Miller. Motion carried. 

Approve repayment from Transportation to Working Cash Fund

MOTION: Fleer “to approve $165,000 repayment from Transportation to Working Cash Fund.” 

SECOND: Miller 

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Arnsman, Duesterhaus, Duke, Farmer, Fleer, Janssen, and Miller. Motion carried. 

Approve repayment of 2 loans from Transportation to Building Fund

MOTION: Janssen "to approve $50,000 (2 Loans) per $50,000 from Transportation to Building Fund repayment.” 

SECOND; Miller 

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Arnsman, Duesterhaus, Duke, Farmer, Fleer, Janssen, and Miller, Motion carried. 

Approve repayment from Education to Building Fund

MOTION: Janssen “to approve $650,000 repayment from Education to Building Fund.” 

SECOND: Duke 

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Arnsman, Duesterhaus, Duke, Farmer, Fleer, Janssen, and Miller. Motion carried. 

Approve to issue loan from Building Fund to Transportation

MOTION: Miller “to approve to issue $650,000, 3 year loan from the Building Fund to Transportation."

SECOND: Fleer 

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Arnsman, Duesterhaus, Duke, Farmer, Fleer, Janssen, and Miller. Motion carried. Janssen stepped out at 6:19, returned at 6:28 

Closed Session

MOTION: Miller “to move to closed session at 6:20 p.m.”

SECOND: Fleer

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Arnsman, Duesterhaus, Duke, Farmer, Fleer, and Miller. Motion carried. 

Open Session

MOTION: Janssen “to return to open session at 6:58.” 

SECOND: Fleer 

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Arnsman, Duesterhaus, Duke, Farmer, Fleer, Janssen, and Miller. Motion carried, 

Closed Session Minutes

MOTION: Miller “to approve minutes of the September 25, 2019 closed session.” 

SECOND: Janssen 

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Arnsman, Duesterhaus, Duke, Farmer, Fleer,

Roll Call Vote: Ave - Arnsman Duectarha Janssen, and Miller. Motion carried. 

Adjourn

MOTION: Miller “to adjourn." 

SECOND: Fleer 

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Arnsman, Duesterhaus, Duke, Farmer, Fleer, Janssen, and Miller. Motion carried.

Next meeting will be a Regular Board Meeting, Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Unity High School Band Room.
