Payson Community Unit School District 1 Board of Education met July 1.

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

CALL TO ORDER Jeff Hull, vice president, called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.

ROLL CALL Brian Ippensen, acting secretary, called roll with the following members present: Jeff Hull, Brian Ippensen, Vinson Sill and Shannon Triplett. Krista Bangert, Chanse Barker and Lisa Schwartz were absent.

Also present was Donna Veile.

VISITORS None

ATHLETIC REPORT Brian Rea submitted a report on the handbook, gym floor, official schedules/pay and IHSA information.

CONSENT AGENDA Ippensen made a motion to approve the consent agenda. Hull seconded the motion. AYE: Hull, Ippensen, Sill and Triplett NAY: None

Barker entered at 7:08. Bangert entered at 7:09.

SUPERINTENDENT Donna Veile spoke about ISBE grants and the district audit. She also gave an update on the lighting project and a follow up on the installation of surge protectors and grounding issues at the high school.

CLOSED SESSION MINUTES Triplett made a motion to approve to keep the last six months (Jan-June) of closed session minutes closed. Bangert seconded the motion. AYE: Barker, Hull, Ippensen, Sill, Triplett and Bangert NAY: None

MOVE TO CLOSED SESSION Triplett made a motion to move into closed session for the purpose of discussing the employment of personnel, student matters, and other items appropriate for closed session. Sill seconded the motion. AYE: Hull, Ippensen, Sill, Triplett, Bangert and Barker NAY: None

Entered into closed session at 7:45 p.m.

RETURN TO OPEN SESSION Ippensen made a motion to return to open session. Triplett seconded the motion. AYE: Sill, Triplett, Bangert, Barker, Hull and Ippensen NAY: None

Returned to open session at 8:35 p.m.

PERSONNEL ADDENDUM Ippensen made a motion to approve the personnel addendum. Triplett seconded the motion. AYE: Ippensen, Sill, Triplett, Bangert, Barker and Hull NAY: None

NON-CERT AND PARA PAY SCHEDULE Ippensen made a motion to approve the non-cert pay schedule, which includes the para pay schedule. Sill seconded the motion. AYE: Triplett, Bangert, Barker, Hull, Ippensen and Sill NAY: None

ADJOURNMENT Triplett made a motion to adjourn. Bangert seconded the motion. AYE: Bangert, Barker, Hull, Ippensen, Sill and Triplett NAY: None
