Q4 2018 Recap: Parolees in Adams County convicted of crimes involving weapons

There were two offenders convicted of crimes involving weapons released on parole in Adams County during the fourth quarter of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Quincy Reporter.

The data shows that a man and a woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes involving weapons was 29. The youngest parolee was a 27-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 30-year-old woman sentenced in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Nicholas K. Meyers. He was convicted in 2018 when he was 26 years old. He is now 27.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
