Q4 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Adams County?

There were 26 offenders released on parole during the fourth quarter that live in Adams County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Quincy Reporter.

The data shows that 23 men and three women were released in Adams County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 37. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2018, and the oldest was a 56-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2008.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Gerald C. Schmidt Jr. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2008 when he was 45 years old. He is now 56.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
