Liberty Community Unit School District 2 students suspended 19 times in a single school year

Liberty Community Unit School District 2 reported 19 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 19 students during the year. That equates to 3.2 percent of the 594 students enrolled.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes seven incidents. There were four incidents of violence without physical injury. For eight incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes four incidents. There were three incidents of violence without physical injury. For four incidents, students were suspended for 1-3 days.
