Department Reports:

• Corner Scott Graham: Scott provided a written report for review and briefly discussed numbers from the month. There was also discussion of the bad condition of the walk-in cooler the Corner uses that is located out at the Highway Dept. There was discussion about what the board can do to improve the conditions and make improvements.

• Ambulance/EMS Coordinator John Simon: Provided some general information. Mentioned the Adams County Fair went well and is working on the emergency plan for the Sept. 6th event celebrating the county bicentennial.

• VAC: Paul Havermale gave a report on how the claims are going at the VAC office. They added 61 new clients this last month and have reached 1.5 million in total claims so far. Paul also said if any veteran wanted to attend the Sept. 6th event, their office would assist any veteran getting tickets to event.

New Business:

The only topic for discussion was the reconsideration vote on the Ghost Hollow Road solar project.

It was highlighted that the major reason for voting no should not be the solar company or the property owner, but how the state structured how the proposals are to be approved. Due to legislation, it gives the local counties no option to vote against without being sued.

It was proposed that with the way the law is written can be considered extorsion and for that the county may pursue a case against the state. The county board is in a no-win situation and filing suit against the state may bring more light to the process on how projects are approved than allowing local government bodies to have the ability to pass or deny projects.

It was proposed that if members were to change their vote it would be under protest of an amendment in statutory law.

Old Business: None

Adjourned: 6:41pm. Motion made by Keith Calloway and seconded by Steve McQueen. Meeting adjourned.
