State Senator Jil Tracy (R-Quincy), Representative Kyle Moore (R-Quincy), and Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer (R-Murrayville) have expressed appreciation to the community following the conclusion of their first Back-to-School Supplies Drive, which ended on August 8.

The initiative collected a variety of items including backpacks, lunch boxes, notebooks, pencils, and other classroom supplies. These items were distributed to schools within the legislators’ districts before the start of the new academic year.

“We are so grateful to the families, businesses, and organizations who stepped up to support local students,” said Senator Tracy. “Because of this effort, many children will be walking into classrooms this year with confidence, ready to learn.”

Representative Moore also highlighted the level of participation from residents. “We’re humbled by the generosity of our community. Each donation represents an investment in a child’s future, and I couldn’t be more proud of how our community came together.”

Representative Davidsmeyer commented on the impact for families. “We know times are tough for many families, but together we’ve shown what can happen when a community pulls together. These supplies will ease financial stress and help kids focus on learning.”

The legislators indicated they plan to continue this effort in future years.

Tracy was elected as a Republican to represent Illinois’ 50th Senate District in 2023 after Steve McClure previously held the seat.
