Payson Community Unit School District 1 Board of Education met July 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL

Denise Albsmeyer called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. Roll was taken with the following members present: Denise Albsmeyer, Keith Barry, Danelle Donley, Cory Hagerbaumer, and Trista Neisen. Russ Board and Lisa Schwartz were absent.

Also present were Donna Veile, Lucas Ayers and Nancy Cromie.

TECHNOLOGY REPORT

Lucas Ayers talked about switching licenses and Parent Square.

CONSENT AGENDA

Donley made a motion to approve the consent agenda. Barry seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barry, Donley, Hagerbaumer, and Neisen NAY: None

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

Donna Veile gave an update on summer projects around the district. Online registration for 2025-26 is set to go live on July 21. New student registration and fee payments will be on August 4 and 5. 

CLOSED SESSION MINUTES

Barry made a motion to keep the last six months (January-June) of closed session minutes closed. Neisen seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barry, Donley, Hagerbaumer, and Neisen NAY: None

2025-26 SCHOOL FEES

Barry made a motion to keep the 2025-26 school fees the same as last year and the district will cover the QAVTC fees for this year. Hagerbaumer seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barry, Donley, Hagerbaumer, and Neisen NAY: None

MOVE TO CLOSED SESSION

Neisen made a motion to move into closed session for the purpose of discussing the employment of personnel, student matters, collective bargaining agreement, and other items appropriate for closed session. Donley seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barry, Donley, Hagerbaumer, and Neisen NAY: None

Schwartz entered at 7:24 p.m. via telephone.

RETURN TO OPEN SESSION

Neisen made a motion to return to open session. Barry seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barry, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz NAY: NoneReturned to open session at 7:47 p.m.

PERSONNEL ADDENDUM 

Barry made a motion to approve the personnel addendum. Donley seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barry, Donley, Hagerbaumer, Neisen and Schwartz NAY: None

ADDITIONAL ITEMS 

There was discussion on the baseball field and the DOT Foods grant process.
