Adams County Board Public Health & Safety Committee met April 15.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Present were Steve McQueen, Mark Sorensen, Keith Callaway, and Barbara Fletcher. Also attending were EMS Director John Simon, Sheriff Tony Grootens, and VAC Director Paul Havermale. Absent were Brent Fischer and Coroner Scott Graham.

The meeting was called to order at 5:37 PM.

There was no Speaker.

The bills were reviewed and appeared to be in order.

Approved the minutes of April 15, 2025, made by Barb Fletcher and seconded by Steve McQueen, motion passed.

Department Reports:

Emergency Management/Ambulance – Director Simon reported:

The Ambulance service has 775 calls for the month.

They had a unit that went out of service, so they bought a used one for its replacement.

Sheriff – Sheriff Tony Grootens reported that for the month of March there were. 109 average inmate population.

Veterans Assistance Commission -Paul Havermale reported.

Year to date, they have seen 139 clients.

They have a total of 3 VSO in the office.

They are getting closer to a million dollars in benefits for the clients.

New Business - Renewal of the Intergovernmental Agreement between ROE #1 and Adams County. The committee voted unanimously for the renewal, which was passed on to the Board.

There was No Old Business.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:33 PM.
