Quincy Public School District 172 Board of Education met April 23.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING

1. Administering oath to new Board members.

2. Meeting in Open Session to elect officers of the Board, set dates and times and places of regular meetings of the Board for the balance of the fiscal year, and take such other action as is necessary and appropriate to organize the Board of Education pursuant to the requirements of the School Code.

3. Meeting in Closed Session to consider the following subjects: a) the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the School District; b) collective negotiating matters between the School District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees; c) the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the District; d) the setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the District; e) the sale or purchase of investments; f) emergency security procedures; g) student disciplinary cases; h) the placement of individual students in special education programs and other matters relating to individual students; i) approval of Closed Session Minutes for distribution to the public; j) pending, probable or imminent litigation; and k) other matters appropriate for a closed meeting pursuant to the Open Meetings Act.

4. Meeting in Open Session to consider and take action on any matter considered in Closed Session pursuant to paragraph 3 above.

5. Considering and taking action on all other matters necessary and appropriate to the operation of the School District, which may properly be considered and/or acted upon at such Special Meeting in Open or Closed Session.
