Discussion items

Office space lease for FBFM at Ag Center - The Illinois Farm Business Farm Management Association approached the college requesting to lease office space at the Agricultural Center for a term of four months. The agreement was reviewed by legal counsel.   Space was granted and an agreement signed by the president.

Contractor agreement between JWCC and College for Life - This contract allows a contractor to work with College for Life program/employees to design a Certified Transition Program to draft an application to be submitted to the Department of Education to earn this status.  Funding was received for this project through the Tracy Family Foundation.

Master Plan proposal from Klingner BLDD Architects - Klingner and Associates met with Dr. Renfro to discuss their firm to provide a proposal to update the 2019 JWCC facility master plan.  JWCC facilities consist of 11 buildings.  The firm will review all pertinent background material and meet with JWCC personnel to understand the scope of the proposal.  A proposal outlining the details was shared with the committee.

Federal grants - Dr. Renfro shared data of JWCC’s federal grants.  Since all federal grants are being analyzed by the federal government currently, the committee was provided an update of what grants JWCC receives, their status and purpose.

March BOT meeting - The current March Board of Trustees meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 19 in Mt. Sterling.  With the college receiving notification of being selected as one of 13 colleges to participate in Pathways project, the March board meeting now conflicts with leadership attending this event.  The committee recommends to the Board to change the March meeting from March 19 to Tuesday, March 18.  This will be finalized at the February meeting.

Caring Campus - The committee heard an update on Caring Campus activities.  A data sheet will be shared in the February table folder.  The faculty portion of Caring Campus is being integrated.

Presidential evaluation/timeline -   The committee heard the presidential evaluation is normally done prior to the start of the new fiscal year budget.  A copy of a proposed timeline for his evaluation and a copy of the previous evaluation document used was shared with the committee.  This information will be included in the February table folder.
