Call to Order and Roll Call 

The Southeastern Community Unit District #337 Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, December 16, 2024 in the Board of Education Office in Augusta, Illinois. Mark Hitz, Board President, called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Roll Call verified that there was a quorum of the Board of Education with the following members present and absent as listed below:

Public Hearing Process 

On a motion by Member Stephens and a second by Member Bunnell, the Board of Education opened the public hearing on the 2024 Truth in Taxation Hearing at 6:01 p.m.

On a motion by Member Stevens and a second by Member Bunnell, the Board of Education closed the public hearing on the 2024 Truth in Taxation Hearing at 6:02 p.m.

On a motion by Member Henry and a second by Member Stephens, the Board of Education approved the Southeastern Community Unit School District #337 Tax Levy Request in the amount of $4,392,297.

Approval of Minutes 

On a motion by Member Stevens and a second by Member Stephens, the Board of Education approved the minutes from the November 20, 2024 regular meeting and closed session.

Special Recognition 

Principal Tim Kerr presented the Board Excellence Awards: December Sun of the Month, Selected to All-State Choir, Illinois State Scholar, KHQA Student Athlete of the Week, Illprepvb.com 1st Team All-State Volleyball Team, Illprepvb.com Special Mention All-State Volleyball Team, Beardstown Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament All-Tournament Team, CSE High School Girls’ Basketball Pana Tournament 2nd Place, 7th Grade Boys Basketball Pike County Conference Tournament Champions, 8th Grade Boys Basketball Pike County Conference Tournament 2nd Place.

Financial 

On a motion by Member Henry and a second by Member Stevens, the Board of Education approved the bills, financial statements, and activity funds.

Informational Items 

Superintendent Lantz presented the current vehicle fleet and will provide recommendations at a future meeting.

Superintendent Lantz reviewed the RIF Joint Committee annual meeting.

Superintendent Lantz presented the FY24 Annual Financial Report from Gorenz and Associates, Ltd.

No Administrative reports were given.

On a motion by Member Stephens and a second by Member Bunnell, the Board of Education moved into closed session at 6:20 p.m. for the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity, and student disciplinary cases.
