Senator Jil Tracy outlines priorities for Illinois' new legislative session

State Senator Jil Tracy of Quincy took part in the inaugural ceremonies for the Illinois Senate as the 104th General Assembly began its session on January 8 at the State Capitol Building in Springfield.

Illinois Supreme Court Justice Mary Kay O’Brien administered the oath of office to newly elected Senators. Sen. Tracy has been serving in the Senate since January 11, 2015, after previously serving in the House of Representatives from July 2006 to 2014.

"Illinois faces significant challenges, but I remain committed to moving our state forward," said Sen. Tracy. "My top priorities are reduced spending, more efficient use of taxpayer dollars, and creating an environment that is more jobs friendly. We also need to do more to keep our communities safe." She emphasized her commitment to bipartisan cooperation and representing Western Illinois effectively.

The 50th Senate District represented by Sen. Tracy includes all or parts of Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Cass, Greene, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Morgan, Pike, Schuyler, and Scott counties.
