Adams County Board Legislative & Judicial Committee met Aug. 13.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Meeting Convened at 5:45PM on August 13, 2024.

Members Present: Robert Reich, Theresa Bockhold, Jon McCoy, Marvin Kerkhoff Members Absent: Todd Duesterhaus

Others in Attendance: Anthony Foster, Gary Farha, Ryan A. Niekamp, Jonathan Hoover, Lori Geschenwander, Tony Grootens and R. Kent Snider

A motion to approve the minutes from July 9, 2024, as written by Mrs. Bockhold and seconded by Mr. McCoy. The minutes were approved unanimously as printed.

The committee reviewed the bills, and all appeared to be in order.

Dr. Reich noted that the new attorney in the State’s Attorney’s Office, Erin, will be assisting the process of solar and wind farms.

Dr. Reich presented Resolution Number 2024-08-121-024 to Establish a New Permanent Polling Location for Keen Township. Mr. Niekamp explained that the polling location would be moved across the street to the Fire Department’s building which has a public access area. Mr. Niekamp explained that it has better parking, ADA accommodations, full HVAC system, and storm shelter. Motion to approve by Dr. Reich, and seconded by Mr. McCoy. The motion passed unanimously.

Dr. Reich presented the following appointments with a motion to approve by Mrs. Bockhold, and second by Mr. McCoy. The appointments passed unanimously.

• Appointment of Robert L. Breckenkamp as a Trustee to the South Quincy Drainage and Levee District

• Appointment of James Kindhart as a Trustee to the Clayton Fire Protection District to the unexpired term of Douglas Means

• Appointment of Gary Cantrell as a Trustee to the Clayton Fire Protection District to the unexpired term of Ted Parker

Dr. Reich presented the following event liquor licenses. Motion to approve made by Mr. McCoy and seconded by Mrs. Bockhold. The event licenses were approved unanimously.

• One-Day Liquor Permit for Jersey’s LLC DBA Jersey’s Bar and Grill – for an Event at Bailey Park in Camp Point, IL., for August 24, 2024 from 11:00AM until 11:59PM (CDST).

• One-Day Liquor Permit for the North Side Boat Club for Nichols’ Wedding located in Mendon, IL., on September 14, 2024 starting at 5:00pm until September 15, 2024 at 1:00AM (CDST).

• One-Day Liquor Permit for Lakeview Weddings for August 3, 2024 at Lakeview Weddings in Camp Point, IL., from 3:00pm until 11:59pm (CDST).

• One-Day Liquor Permit for Lakeview Weddings for August 31, 2024 at Lakeview Weddings in Camp Point, IL., from 4:00pm until 11:59pm (CDST).

• One-Day Liquor Permit for Lakeview Weddings for August 17, 2024 at Lakeview Weddings in Camp Point, IL., from 4:00pm until 11:59pm (CDST).

There being no other business, Robert Reich moved to adjourn at 6:20 P.M., seconded by Jon McCoy. The committee unanimously approved to adjourn.
