Senator John Curran praised his colleague, Senator Jill Tracy, upon announcing her selection as a 2024 Bridge Builder by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce. "Sen. Tracy’s leadership on business issues is invaluable to our caucus and the people of Illinois, and there is no senator more deserving of this prestigious award," Curran stated in an August 13 Facebook post.
"State Senator Jil Tracy is a relentless advocate for economic policies that make Illinois a better, more affordable place to work, live and raise a family," said F Curran, State Senator 41st District, according to Facebook. "She has dedicated her storied career to improving our state by investing in Illinois families and businesses with great success. Sen. Tracy's leadership on business issues is invaluable to our caucus and the people of Illinois, and there is no senator more deserving of this prestigious award."
According to Curran's Facebook post, he shared an announcement from the Illinois Chamber of Commerce regarding the award. The post read: "With the Bridge Builder Award, the Illinois Chamber recognizes two legislators from each chamber, one from each caucus, who display a willingness and effectiveness in reaching across the aisle to work together to make Illinois a more attractive place to conduct business. Today's release is the final of four to be issued for this session. Congratulations, State Senator Jill Tracy!"

The Illinois Chamber of Commerce's Facebook post included a link to an August 9 news release that announced Tracy’s award and featured a statement from Tracy herself. "Receiving the Bridge Builder Award from the Illinois Chamber is quite an honor. My focus as a lawmaker has always been economic development and I believe working together for the common good is a much more effective way of making our state a better place to live and work. A strong jobs climate helps all Illinois residents," said Tracy in the news release.
The Illinois Chamber of Commerce aims to be the voice of businesses in Illinois, allowing business owners to focus on growth, according to Chamber President and CEO Lou Sandoval.
John Curran has represented the people of the 41st District since 2018 and currently serves as the Illinois Senate Minority Leader. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Juris Doctorate from Northern Illinois University College of Law. Before joining the Illinois General Assembly, Curran served three terms on the DuPage County Board. He resides in Downers Grove with his wife and four daughters and works at a boutique law firm specializing in employment law. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Directors for the Downers Grove Economic Development Corporation.
