33 coaches at institutions in Adams County earned $23,890 on average in 2022

Adams County’s 33 coaches earned an average salary of $23,890 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 15th lowest average salary per county earned by coaches at Illinois post-secondary schools during 2022.

Adams County is home to two post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Quincy University stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $34,652.

Male coaches of men's teams received $30,168 on average in Adams County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $25,476.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
