Adams County Board Transportation, Building & Technology Committee met Jan. 9.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Meeting Convened at 6:00 PM

Members Present: Dave Bellis, Ryan Hinkamper, Dave McCleary

Members Absent: Joe Zanger and Les Post

Others in Attendance: Jim Frankenhoff, Todd Eyler, David Hochgraber, Christa Holtman and news media

Joe Zanger entered the meeting at 6:07 PM.

Mr. Hinkamper made a motion to approve the minutes from the December 12th committee meeting. Mr. McCleary seconded the motion. The minutes were unanimously approved as printed.

Bills

The committee reviewed, approved and signed off on the bills.

Public Comment

There was no public comment.

Reports

a. County Engineer

Mr. Frankenhoff looking at replacing mowers. He provided numbers to the committee. Mr. McCleary made a motion to approve the bid for the 2022 mowers.

Mr. Hinkamper seconded the motion.

The mower purchase was approved.

Mr. Frankenhoff provided an update on today’s snow storm. He also updated the committee on the roundabout project. The committee unanimously agreed that this will be the most cost effective, safe option and the right way to move forward.

b. Information Technology Department

Mr. Hochgraber updated the committee on updated firewalls that will be implemented. He stated the cameras are all completed. Now they will switch gears to the fobs and credentials with new photos for ID badges.

c. Courthouse Maintenance

Mr. Bellis updated the committee on the updates in the law library. He updated on the other cleaning that was done in the sub-basement. 53 air diffusers have been installed in the building as well.

d. Other

Resolutions

New Business

a. Discussion regarding live stream.

Mr. Hochgraber stated that the capabilities of live-streaming our meetings is there, but it would need board approval. Mr. Hinkamper stated that this is a discussion the board should talk about. The committee unanimously agreed it would be beneficial to the public. They discussed that it would only be able to be in the county board room where the technology is.

Mr. Hinkamper made a motion for the county board to discuss live-streaming the county board meetings. Mr. McCleary seconded the motion. The committee unanimously approved the motion.

The committee discussed a house in county-limits that his half-burned down and has people still living in it. Mr. Eyler stated the county has no zoning so it would have to be private action.

There was no executive session.

There were no additional action items.

The meeting ended at 6:53 PM.
