Mendon Community Unit School District #4 Board of Education met May 24.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Education of Community Unit School District #4 met in regular session on Wednesday May 24, 2023, in the Unity High School Band Room. The meeting was called to order by President Shaffer at 6:00 p.m. Members present were: Arnsman, Fleer, Janssen, Shaffer and Rolando. No Administrators were present. Superintendent Riddle was present. Ten visitors were present. 

MOTION: Janssen "to approve agenda items as presented." 

SECOND: Fleer 

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Arnsman, Fleer, Janssen, Shaffer and Rolando. 

Motion carried. 

MOTION: Rolando "to move to closed session at 6:09 p.m. 

SECOND: Janssen 

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Arnsman, Fleer, Janssen, Shaffer and Rolando. 

Motion carried. 

MOTION: Shaffer "to return to open session at 8:35 p.m. 

SECOND: Janssen 

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Arnsman, Fleer, Janssen, Shaffer and Rolando. 

Motion carried. 

MOTION: Janssen "to approve minutes of the May 24, 2023 closed session." 

SECOND: Fleer 

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Arnsman, Fleer, Janssen, Shaffer and Rolando. 

Motion carried. 

MOTION: Rolando "to approve Matt Garmer and Eric McClelland to fill 2 board vacancies for 2 year terms." 

SECOND: Janssen 

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Arnsman, Fleer, Humke, Janssen, Shaffer and Rolando. 

Motion carried. 

MOTION: Janssen "to adjourn at 8:40 p.m.' 

SECOND: Fleer 

ACTION: Roll Call Vote: Aye - Arnsman, Fleer, Janssen, Shaffer and Rolando. 

Motion carried. 

Next meeting will be a Special Board Meeting, Wednesday May 31, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the Unity High School Band Room.
