City of Quincy City Council met May 1.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

SPECIAL MEETING

A special meeting of the City Council was held this day at 5:30 p.m. with Mayor Michael A. Troup being present. The following members were physically present: Ald. Fletcher, Entrup, Bergman, Bauer, Mays, Farha, Reis, Maples, Uzelac, Holtschlag. 10.

Absent: Ald. Rivera, Sassen, Rein, Mast. 4.

Ald. Entrup moved the absent Aldermen be excused and be allowed the usual compensation for this meeting. Motion carried. Ald. Entrup moved the minutes of the regular meeting of the City Council held April 24, 2023, and Special Meeting of the City Council held April 27, 2023, be approved. Motion carried.

Legal Counsel: Corporation Counsel Lonnie Dunn.

Ald. Rein arrived at 5:32 p.m.

THE CALL

Honorable Laura Oakman, City Clerk & Ex-Officio Town Clerk:

You will call a SPECIAL MEETING of the City Council for Monday, May 1, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, in the City Hall, for the purpose of receiving the monthly reports of the City Officials, the annual reports of City Officials, allowing any claims against the City and Town of Quincy which the Finance Committee and the Town Claims Committee may recommend, and for the transaction of any other business which may properly come before said Special Meeting.

Ald. Uzelac moved THE CALL be received and filed. Motion carried.

PUBLIC FORUM

No one was there to speak.

The City Clerk presented and read the following:

MONTHLY REPORTS

The monthly reports of the City Clerk, the City Comptroller, the City Treasurer, the Forestry Division, Sign and Paint Department, and Street Cleaning Department for the month of April, 2023; Forestry Division, Sign and Paint Department, Recycling Division, Street Cleaning Department monthly reports for March, 2023, were ordered received and filed on a motion of Ald. Uzelac. Motion carried.

REPORT OF THE POLICE PENSION FUND FY 2022-2023

The Reports of the Police Pension Fund for the fiscal year ending April, 2023, was ordered received and filed on a motion of Ald. Uzelac. Motion carried.

ANNUAL REPORT OF THE FOOD AND BEVERAGE TAX

Ald. Uzelac moved the report be received and filed. Motion carried.

CITY DEPARTMENT ANNUAL REPORTS

The annual reports of the City Clerk, the City Treasurer, the City Comptroller, the Forestry Division, Sign and Paint Department, Street Cleaning Department and Mosquito Abatement for the fiscal year ending April, 2023 were ordered received and filed on a motion of Ald. Uzelac. Motion carried.

The City Council adjourned Sine Die at 5:38 p.m. on a motion of Ald. Holtschlag.
