Payson Community Unit School District #1 Board of Education met April 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

CALL TO ORDER

Lisa Schwartz called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.

ROLL CALL

Nancy Cromie, district secretary, called roll with the following members present: Denise Albsmeyer, Keith Barry, Danelle Donley, Trista Neisen and Lisa Schwartz. Vinson Sill and Clint Twaddle were absent.

Also present were Donna Veile, Julie Phelan, Greg Buescher, Barb Speckhart, Don Miller and Nancy Cromie.

Diane Germann, Tahnee Bauer, Cory Hagerbaumer

AD REPORT

Don Miller submitted a report on the status of current sports.

CONSENT AGENDA

Albsmeyer made a motion to approve the amended consent agenda. Neisen seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barry, Donley, Neisen and Schwartz NAY: None

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

Donna Veile gave an update on the weight room, grade school boiler and HS sound system projects. The district will seek bids for elementary milk and hot lunch products. Statements of Economic Interest were passed out and volunteers were sought to hand out diplomas at graduation.

FINAL 2022-23 SCHOOL CALENDAR

Albsmeyer made a motion to approve the final 2022-23 school calendar with the last day as May 22. Donley seconded the motion. AYE: Barry, Donley, Neisen, Albsmeyer and Schwartz NAY: None

TIMPBERLINE BILLING SERVICES CONTRACT

Barry made a motion to approve the Timberline Billing Services contract. Neisen seconded the motion. AYE: Donley, Neisen, Albsmeyer, Barry and Schwartz NAY: None

ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL REPORT

Julie Phelan shared that PreK and Kindergarten screenings will take place on April 28. Preparations continue for the May 19 Celebration Day. IAR testing is almost complete. She then shared a video from 2nd grade regarding their class activities.

SECONDARY PRINCIPAL REPORT

Greg Buescher shared recent fieldtrips by the juniors, seniors and drama class. SAT, IAR and PSAT testing have been completed. Prom is April 29 at Pointe D’Vine. He then presented a slide show of JH/HS class activities.

MOVE TO CLOSED SESSION

Barry made a motion to move into closed session for the purpose of discussing the employment of personnel, student matters, contracts and other items appropriate for closed session. Donley seconded the motion. AYE: Donley, Neisen, Albsmeyer, Barry and Schwartz NAY: None

Entered into closed session at 7:25 p.m.

RETURN TO OPEN SESSION

Neisen made a motion to return to open session. Barry seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barry, Donley, Neisen and Schwartz NAY: None

Returned to open session at 9:05 p.m.

PERSONNEL ADDENDUM

Neisen made a motion to approve the personnel addendum. Barry seconded the motion. AYE: Barry, Donley, Neisen, Albsmeyer and Schwartz NAY: None

ADJOURNMENT

Donley made a motion to adjourn. Neisen seconded the motion. AYE: Donley, Neisen, Albsmeyer, Barry and Schwartz NAY: None 

Meeting adjourned at 9:28 p.m.
