Hawks Use Fast Start to Race Past the Bearcats
Battling for a spot in the GLVC tournament, the Hawks kicked off the final weekend of the regular season by battling the Bearcats of Southwest Baptist University. QU led by 18 at the half and never looked back as they ended up coming out with the win by the score of 78-64.
Beth Matas Martin led the Hawks in scoring with 23 points on 9 of 18 from the field. The Girona, Spain native also collected 6 rebounds and dished out 3 assists. Off the bench, Cymirah Williams posted a double-double with a career high 19 points and 15 rebounds. Sarah Nelson also registered double figures with 13 points.
As a team, the Hawks shot 30 of 61 for 49.2% from the field. From beyond the arc, they shot 41.7% and 81.3% from the charity stripe.
QU will finish out the regular season on Saturday, February 25th at Rockhurst University. The season finale is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. tip.
