Central School District #3 Board Curriculum Committee met Feb. 9.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

1. Call to Order

2. Introductions: Devin Hildebrand, Kindel Kestner, Ashley Aeilts, Eric Stotts, Brianna Hildebrand, Chevi Ingalls, Leah Zeitler, Tracey Rhea, Vicki Eilers, Erica Smith

3. CHS

a. Business Finance Workbooks

i. Virtual Business Account online is 11 lessons engaging a student with operating a business

4. CJHS

a. IXL

i. Kids love the competition, teachers’ only complaint is the kids want to do it instead of other curriculum. 

b. RTI

i. ELA two to three days/week; Math two days / week

c. 7th/8th Vocabulary Workbooks

i. Next year; possibly put in Microsoft forms 

5. CMS

a. Vocabulary

i. 4th grade seeing improvement in math vocabulary thanks to Engage NY; focusing on all subjects

b. Love for Reading Week

i. Themes, books, dress up, AR challenges, surpassed goals

6. Curriculum Director

a. Evaluwise

i. Middle School using it this year; all buildings using it next year

b. Summer Enrichment opportunities

i. IXL, Freckle, Summer Solutions, set goals for rewards

7. CES

a. Guided Reading training

i. Cindy Dollman videoing lessons, meeting with grade levels, insightful to hear what other grades are doing

b. STAR assessments

i. Shared results

c. Report Card revisions

i. Back to basics, ABC, ESN

8. Superintendent

a. Next year’s vision for these meetings, for our district...

i. I’d like to see the meetings more problem-solving than just informational, like today has been! District wide we are moving to support more vocational track students.
