Hawks Struggle Against Prairie Stars
The Quincy University Women's Basketball team hosted the University of Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars Saturday (Feb 11) afternoon losing 81-59.
The Hawks were leading in the first quarter 6-5 with seven minutes remaining, but 12 first quarter turnovers would give the Prairie Stars the lead at the end of the first quarter 18-10. Quincy's offensive struggles would continue in the second quarter as they would only shoot 2-14 (14.29%) from the field.
Quincy would end the game shooting 23-64 (35.9%) from the field. Led by Beth Matas Martin who had 17 points. Cymirah Williams had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds while also getting 6 steals in the game.
UIS had three players with double digit points while also forcing QU to turn the ball over 34 times leading to 32 points.
Quincy University will be back in action on Thursday, February 16th as they host the William Jewel Cardinals at 5:30 P.M.
