Zilinskas' Clutch Shooting Down the Stretch Propels Hawks to Road Victory
They say it's tough to win on the road in GLVC play, the Hawks showed their toughness down the stretch at Neil Carey Arena as they pulled off the 63-62 win over the Lewis University Flyers on Thursday, February 2nd.
QU was led by Paul Zilinskas who scored 13 of his game-high 19 points in the final three minutes of the contest. Zilinskas did not miss a shot in that stretch, including knocking down four free throws. For the contest, he was 6 of 11 from the field and 6 of 7 from the free throw line. The other Hawk in double figures was Zion Richardson who shot the ball efficiently as he went 5 of 6 from the field and 3 of 4 from three-point territory.
As a team, the Hawks shot 22 of 53 for 41.5% and 15 of 19 from the charity stripe.
QU will travel to the University of Indianapolis on Saturday, February 4th for a nationally-ranked matchup against the 7th-ranked Greyhounds at 2:00 p.m. central time.
