Illinois State Sen. Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) recently announced that the Valentines for Seniors card drive would happen again this year.
"The Valentines for Senior Card Drive has brought much joy and many smiles to the residents of local long-term care facilities. Many of those residents have had to be more isolated in recent years because of ongoing public health concerns,” Tracy said, according to a Jan. 20 Facebook post. “Making them beautiful Valentine’s Day cards reminds them how many people truly care about them.”
Tracy shared a link to her official web page where individuals could find more information. Individuals may also drop off cards between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at Tracy's office located at 3601 East Lake Centre Drive, Suite 200, Quincy IL 62305. Cards will be accepted through Feb. 7, 2023. Cards may also be delivered to Tracy's district office in Jacksonville, at 325 W. State St., Suite 102, Jacksonville, IL 62650
Visitors can obtain more information on participating in the card drive by contacting Helen Mayfield by email at hmayfield@adams.net
This is not the first year that Tracy and Illinois Republicans have held this card drive. According to Tracy's press release on the card drive, the Senate Republicans delivered 45.000 cards to individuals in care centers in 2022.
