Call to Order and Roll Call

The Southeastern Community Unit District #337 Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, December 19, 2022 in the Board of Education Office (Room #126) in Augusta, Illinois. John Eilers, Board President, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

Roll Call verified that there was a quorum of the Board of Education with the following members present and absent as listed below:

On a motion by Member Tippey and a second by Member Winters, the Board of Education approved the agenda items as presented.

On a motion by Member Tippey and a second by Member Winters, the Board of Education opened the public hearing on the 2022 Truth in Taxation Hearing at 6:31 p.m.

On a motion by Member Hitz and a second by Member Kearby, the Board of Education closed the public hearing on the 2022 Truth in Taxation Hearing at 6:44 p.m.

On a motion by Member Hitz and a second by Member Tippey, the Board of Education approved the minutes from the November 14, 2022 regular meeting as presented.

Superintendent Fox named the Board Excellence accomplishments including December Sun of the Month, Illinois State Scholar, Beardstown Basketball Tournament All-Tournament Team, Illinois Volleyball Prep All State Special Mention Team, Champaign News Gazette Volleyball All-State Honorable Mention, Champaign News Gazette Volleyball All-State 1st Team, Illinois Volleyball Prep All-State 3rd Team, Southeastern Basketball All-Time Leading Scorer, Beardstown Basketball Tournament All-Tournament Team, Area Distributors Player of the Week, Pike County Tournament Consolation Champions, Beardstown Tournament Champions.

Financial

Superintendent Fox presented the monthly financial snapshot showing we are 42% into the fiscal year. We have received 62% of our budgeted revenue and have spent 47% of budgeted expenditures.

On a motion by Member Kearby and a second by Member Hitz, the Board of Education approved the bills, financial statements, and activity funds.

Superintendent Fox reviewed the comparisons of technology support.

Superintendent Fox discussed our current internet provider.

Superintendent Fox reviewed the figures for the County Schools Facility Sales Tax revenue from McDonough and Schuyler counties.

Superintendent Fox gave update on school safety.

Superintendent Fox went over the budget figures for the food service department.

Administrative reports were given with Mr. Rigg reporting on possible softball coop.

On a motion by Member Tippey and a second by member Winters, the Board of Education moved into closed session at 7:38 p.m. for the purpose of the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees, including hearing testimony on a complaint ledged against an employee to determine its validity; and student disciplinary cases.
