Men's Basketball Adds One Signee for the 2023-24 Season

Quincy University Men's Basketball coach Steve Hawkins announced Wednesday (Nov. 30) the signing of Jake Hamilton to a national letter of intent during the early signing period.

Hamilton comes to the Hawk program by way of Springfield, Illinois. He attends Sacred Heart – Griffin High School. The 6 foot 3 inch guard helped SHG to a state title during the 2022 season. He has been a varsity starter since his freshman year. Hamilton is a dual sport athlete as he is a wide receiver and safety for the Cyclones football team. He helped the Cyclones win the 2022 class 4A state football title.

Outside of school, he has experience playing on the Under Armor circuit with the Illinois Wolves.

Hawkins on Hamilton: "I'm elated to welcome Jake to our family. He was somebody that caught our eye quickly because of his skill, IQ, and toughness. He's a perfect fit for our program and will be a big part of our future. On top of everything else, he's a great student and terrific kid."
