Leading the way for the defense was Jaree Jones and Ray Lingard who registered 7 tackles apiece. The two also combined for 3.5 TFLs. Ty Shetley reserved the shutout as he forced a FBU fumble on the QU 2 yard line late in the fourth quarter.

Scouting the Pomeroys

The Pomeroys won their first game as well last Saturday on the road at Calumet College of St. Joseph. It took 26 unanswered points and an overtime period for SMWC to pull off the win. At the break, they were trailing CCSJ by the score of 28-8. SMWC tied the game at 28 with 21 seconds left in regulation.

The QB usage was split in half as both Brian Marrell and Brennon Landry saw reps for the Pomeroys. Marrell orchestrated the comeback as he threw their final three touchdown passes. Their top target was Patrick Perea who caught four passes for 114 yards and a touchdown. Andrece Miller was their favorite target as he caught 8 passes for 59 yards and a touchdown.

Perea was also their top rusher getting the ball 17 times for 60 yards.

Trey Jackson led the defensive unit as he recorded 10 tackles, 2.5 TFLs and 2 sacks.
