Village of Mendon Village Board of Trustees met June 9.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Mendon Village Board of Trustees met in regular session in the Village Office. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Village Mayor David Wittler. Trustees present were: Bastert, Buss, Cantrell, and King. Trustees Cannell and Keefe were absent. Village Superintendent Cantrell and Village Clerk Woodruff were present. There was no deputy in attendance. There were no guests present.

Approve Minutes

Motion Buss

To approve the minutes of the May 12, 2022, meeting as read.

Second Bastert

Action Vote

All – Aye – Motion Carried.

Approve Bills

Motion Buss

To approve the bills and payroll as presented and recommended by the finance committee.

Public Comment:

∙ None

Deputies Report:

∙ Well being check – subject was fine

∙ Assisted county injury accident IL-336

∙ Alarm at high school

∙ Dog running at large – located owner

∙ Traffic stop – verbal warning

∙ Theft of bicycle

Maintenance Superintendent’s Report:

∙ Trees in Park a few will need to be taken down

∙ Water Salesman Repaired – broken again - fixed

∙ New Shop Door Installed – a great improvement

∙ Mulch for the park is delayed due to finding trucking to deliver

∙ N Lift Station – building in place on foundation

∙ New edger has been purchased, too wet to use it

Mayor's Report:

∙ Appropriation Ordinance – reviewed by board

∙ Copy Machine – discussion regarding purchased of new or used

∙ Golf Cart & ATV Ordinance changes discussed, amended ordinance recommendation to be presented at next meeting

∙ Catfish Joe’s – donation from last year will be used this year ∙ Garage Sales – were well attended

∙ Discussion regarding reducing paper copies and using a screen and computer to show financial reports to board

∙ Thank you read from Mendon Fire Protection District for support

∙ Thank you from Elizabeth Adams for scholarship

∙ Tandem Swing cost is $1,500 – decided not cost effective

∙ Mosquito spraying within the village to start soon

Appropriation Ordinance NO. 349.22.23

To approve the Appropriation Ordinance 349.22.23 a copy of which is attached to and made a part of these minutes

Purchase Canon Copier

Motion Buss

To approve purchase of a new Canon copier in the amount of $5,457.

All – Aye – Motion Carried.
