Payson Community Unit School District #1 Board of Education met June 17.

CALL TO ORDER Lisa Schwartz, president, called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
ROLL CALL Nancy Cromie, district secretary, called roll with the following members present: Jeff Hull, Lisa Schwartz, Vinson Sill and Clint Twaddle. Chanse Barker was absent.
Also present were Donna Veile, Don Miller, Barb Speckhart and Nancy Cromie.
VISITORS Diane Germann, Mat Perrine, Erin Perry and Danielle Wilson
BOARD APPOINTMENTS Hull made a motion to appoint Denise Albsmeyer and Danelle Donley to the board. Twaddle seconded the motion. AYE: Hull, Sill, Twaddle and Schwartz NAY: None
Both then recited the oath.
PUBLIC Two parents shared their concern regarding students wearing masks.
CONSENT AGENDA Hull made a motion to approve the consent agenda. Twaddle seconded the motion. AYE: Donley, Hull, Sill, Twaddle, Albsmeyer and Schwartz NAY: None
TECH REPORT Barb Speckhart spoke about CIPA (Children’s Internet Protection Act) and there was no public comment. The district’s Acceptable Use Policy for use of the internet has no changes for the upcoming year. Equipment for Distance Learning has been installed at the high school.
Barker arrived at 7:23 p.m.
SUPERINTENDENT REPORT Donna Veile reminded all board members that they are mandated reporters. She also discussed insurance updates and the upcoming school safety review. The annual school board conference in Chicago will be held again in November.
HVAC BID Schwartz made a motion to approve Keck Heating and Air’s HVAC bid. Barker seconded the motion. AYE: Donley, Hull, Sill, Twaddle, Albsmeyer, Barker and Schwartz NAY: None
FOOTBALL COOP AGREEMENT Sill made a motion to approve the 2021-22 and 2022-23 football coop agreement with Unity. Barker seconded the motion. AYE: Barker, Donley, Hull, Sill, Twaddle, Albsmeyer and Schwartz NAY: None
2021-22 MEETING DATES Twaddle made a motion to approve the 2021-22 dates. Sill seconded the motion. AYE: Donley, Hull, Sill, Twaddle, Albsmeyer, Barker and Schwartz NAY: None
2021-22 STUDENT HANDBOOKS Barker made a motion to approve the second reading of the 2021-22 student handbooks. Schwartz seconded the motion. AYE: Hull, Sill, Twaddle, Albsmeyer, Barker, Donley and Schwartz NAY: None
CONSOLIDATED DISTRICT PLAN Schwartz made a motion to approve the consolidated district plan. Hull seconded the motion. AYE: Sill, Twaddle, Albsmeyer, Barker, Donley, Hull and Schwartz NAY: none
MOVE TO CLOSED SESSION Hull made a motion to move into closed session for the purpose of discussing the employment of personnel, student matters, and other items appropriate for closed session. Twaddle seconded the motion. AYE: Hull, Sill, Twaddle, Albsmeyer, Barker, Donley and Schwartz NAY: None
