Village of Mendon Village Board of Trustees met April 21.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Mendon Village Board of Trustees met in regular session in the Village Office. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Village Mayor David Wittler. Trustees present were: Bastert, Buss, Cannell, Keefe, and King. Trustee Moore was absent. Village Superintendent Cantrell and Village Clerk Woodruff were present. There was no deputy in attendance. There were no guests.

Approve Minutes

Motion Cannell, Second Keefe

To approve the minutes of the March 10, 2022, meeting as read.

Action Vote

All – Aye – Motion Carried.

Approve Bills

Motion King, Second Cannell

To approve the bills and payroll as presented and recommended by the finance committee.

Action Vote

All – Aye – Motion Carried.

Public Comment:

∙ None

Deputies Report:

∙ (4) Traffic stops – verbal warnings

∙ Complaint on subjects entering vacant home. Unable to locate subjects

∙ Child Custody Dispute – civil issue

∙ Alarm at HS – building secured – high school staff

Maintenance Superintendent’s Report:

∙ Getting ready for mowing season – mowers are ready

∙ Treating park for weeds –discussion held regarding spraying for weeds – agreed that this should be done both spring and fall – under park budget

‘∙ Raymond and Craig worked on door by money drop box

∙ Water load station to be repaired soon

∙ North Lift Station footing walls poured today

Mayor's Report:

∙ Unit 4 Foundation – Golf Outing Donation ($100.00)

∙ Mutual Aid Agreement (Signed) between towns and townships ∙ New Restrooms in Park - Dave McCleary Adams County Board – proposing possible restrooms for local villages – more information needed for board members to decide interest in project.

∙ 2021-2022 Budget adjustments (Review & Approve)

∙ 2022-2023 Budget presented by Mayor Wittler

∙ Village Clean-up (Bid out) set date June 11th

∙ Employee raises discussed

∙ Trailer Park Inspections – Committee will meet to inspect

∙ Todd Steinkamp purchasing Kropp Trailer Court – closing 19th ∙ UHS (7) $1,000 Senior Scholarships – 2 to be vocational

∙ ARPA funds in amount of $130,800 approved by ACB and will be placed in a special account which the village can access.

$100 Donation to Unit 4 Foundation Golf Outing

Motion King, Second Buss

To donate $100.00 to the Unit 4 Foundation Golf Outing.

Adjustments to 2021-2022 Budget

Motion Cannell, Second Buss

To make adjustments to the 2021-2022 budget - a copy of which is attached to and made a part of these minutes.

All – Aye – Motion Carried.

2022-2023 Salaries

Motion Buss, Second Cannell

To make employee raises for the 2022-2023 budget at $1 per hour for the secretary/treasurer, the maintenance superintendent, and the assistant maintenance employee, and to grant a 50 cent per hour raise to the 3 village deputies.

2022-2023 Budget

Motion Cannell, Second Keefe

To approve the budget for the 2022-2023 year as presented by Mayor Wittler, a copy of which is attached to and made a part of these minutes.

Motion King, Second Bastert

To approve seven $1,000 senior – Class of 2022 scholarships at UHS with two or more of those being to vocational students.

To adjourn to the next regularly scheduled meeting. Meeting adjourned at 8:04 pm.
