Village of Payson Village Board met Feb. 8.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
Meeting called to order- Mayor Dever asks for roll call. Those present were: Chris Dever, Roger Sunde, Kristi Shelton, Kyle Beckman, Robert Stock, Gary Epperson, Don Benjamin and Barney, Jason and Doreta Lalond.
Secretary’s Report:
Roger motioned to accept the Secretary’s report from January, Kristi seconded and all were in favor.
Guests/Communication/Recognition:
1.Brittany and Bradley Cirrincione- in attendance to discuss roads- she runs an in-home daycare in Fall Creek- let them know the Village does not have any control over that- they would need to go to the Fall Creek Township meeting.
Maintenance Report:
1.Moved a lot of snow this past week- good job!
2.Discussed rates/ wages with maintenance dept. prior to meeting and discussed with board as well. Job descriptions also updated- Kristi is working to get these updated in the employee manual as well as all employees’ job descriptions. Board also discussed how to pay for any wage increases from both Corp and Water/Sewer accounts.
3.Sidewalk plan- Kyle talked to Jason about costs and a plan- Phase 1a- DG to Park- 432 feet- $2900, Phase 1b- Franklin to Washington St- 367 ft.- $2400. Phase 2- Main street to Fulton- 350 ft. - $2300. Estimate to have it done is about $9/sq foot- or $135/yard if we do it ourselves. Should have the money in the new budget year to have this done. Then we can look at other projects each year to come.
Police Report:
1.Complaints about dogs barking and running loose- police have talked to the owners, will ask police to follow up.
Parks Committee:
1 Lamp post update- Springfield Electric coming to give an estimate on this project.
Monthly Bills/Treasurer’s Report and Misc. Financial Reports:
1.Bills for January- Gary motioned to approve expenses, Rob seconded and all were in favor after roll call vote.
2.Water rates- Kristi has worked with Becky on a proposal for water rate increase- Current base is $16 on water and $16 on Sewer for 1000 gallons. $10/1000 gallons over the base. Kristi proposes base for water go to $17 and $18 for Sewer- and overages 10.50/1000 gallons. Average bill would go up $4.37/month. This would go into effect April 1st. Kyle motions to approve Kristi’s proposal as stated, Gary seconded- role call vote- All in favor- Kristi will get the ordinance drawn up and then signed and posted.
